Thank you so much Chris and Rose for a brilliant day last Saturday. We all thoroughly enjoyed our day mushroom foraging and would recommend your courses to anyone who would like to try something different. Great fun, very informative and lovely food as well the only problem now is our dog walks take three times longer as we concentrate on searching the ground for mushrooms!

Hi Chris and Rose. Thank you for an absolutely fantastic grand day out. I genuinely cannot recall a more amazing day full of fun, information and exciting new experiences. I came home feeling exhilarated and content and a trifle wind burned. The foraging was first class and the food was incredible and the company was friendly and congenial . Your knowledge and expertise was phenomenal and your method of transferring a small fraction of that to a novice forager was brilliant. I’ve just made a lovely crab risotto with crab from Staithes and flavoured with the Sweet Cicely you gave me. Thank you again
Many thanks to Chris and Rose for yesterday’s coastal foraging course. Your combined knowledge at being able to identify edible seaweed and plants was such a joy. We have learnt so much and it will be fun going on walks and knowing we can collect ‘food’ from the seashore and fields. Made my court bouillon with some of the collected seaweed and cooked our lobster in it. Thoroughly enjoyed our day and would recommend it to everyone…..you will be surprised at what you can learn!! Thanks again.
A fantastic day – in every way. Knowledge disseminated, guidance given, lovely food made, sunshine shone, dabbling in rock-pools just as I did 40 (cough cough … 50) years ago – with just as much pleasure! Thank you Chris and Rose!
Another amazing day with so many new things to find and learn about on the East coast shore, all different from those on last week’s West coast course.. Staithes is such a lovely location too.Glad we decided to have an extra night, we’ll be back to see you , learn more ,and visit more of Yorkshire again next year. It was lovely to meet you both yesterday and thank you for running your excellent cider course. I really enjoyed the day and the company. Having had a bash at cider making last year, I learnt a great deal more, and both Cameron and Steve provided much needed knowledge in good time for this year’s batch

Thank you so much for letting me accompany you on the first part of your course yesterday. I really did enjoy it and was most grateful that occasionally we stood (I sat of course) and listened to your and Rose’s explanation of seaweeds (all edible but not necessarily delicious) winkles, limpets, crabs, lobsters and all thinks pertaining to the sea. As You know I was taken back to the car but my master tells me lunch was very tasty and much enjoyed by all. He also tells me that the afternoon was equally erudite and interesting. When he got home he could not stop talking about it to the mistress. Thought it was one of the best Christmas presents he had ever had. They are now looking at your mushroom course.
I also thought the whole group was a great group. All interested, asked good questions except for the master of course who is a little slow on the uptake at times. They were all knowledgeable and came to learn more.

Just a quick not to say thanks again for making Saturday’s course so enjoyable. We both had a really good day and found the course informative and educational, but also really good fun too.

Just got home from Yorkshire, would just like to thank your good selves for the fantastic day my friend Derek and myself spent with you building a cob oven! Chris, your clay oven building course was brill. You explained yourself well and encompassed all our group, both physical and mentally. You have now inspired me to find other people and places that could benefit from the experience of constructing an oven and enjoying cooking in the oven.

I thought I knew quite a lot about plants but I learned masses and loved smoking the trout for lunch and learning how to fillet a fish. A belated thank you so much for a fantastic day out last Sunday on the Introduction to Foraging course. It was really interesting, fun and the food you made was all so delicious. Thank you for your dedication to sharing your immense knowledge, it was truly inspiring. We are going to make a fish smoker this weekend, and I have spent the week scanning lime trees in Ealing in case there are still some flowers left over!

I had the most fantastic time this weekend on the Vegetarian Wild Food weekend and wanted to thank you guys for a fun, informative and healthy weekend. I came away enthused and excited and my wife in the end had to tell me to shut up as it was obvious I was over excited.
Chris – your food was excellent! I’m not much of a ‘foody’ but I came back inspired to start cooking again.
Rose – I love your woodland and what you have done with it regards the planting schemes, environmentally sensitive controls and sculptures. I’ve picked up some good ideas I hope to do at our hut.
Though I do live 140 miles away if you ever need any assistance please do not hesitate to call me. I will recommend your courses to my colleagues ‘in the trade’.

Just when you thought you’d got rid of us, we’ve rebooked for the vegetarian foraging course in May, and a couple of our friends will also be coming too. We’ll bring along some of our homemade mead for you to try, so something to look forward to there!

Hi Chris, I hope you have recovered from last week and got back ok on Thursday. Many thanks to you for the foraging element of the treasure hunt – it was so refreshing to have a new aspect to the TH and our main client said it was his favourite element of the afternoon. It was great working with you and nothing seemed to be a problem!
Boden we’re extremely happy with the event and called it a ‘triumph’. We’re looking forward to hopefully working with you in the near future.
A quick e-mail to thank you both for such an interesting day on Saturday. We were a bit worried about what to expect from the day, but it turned out to be very friendly, informative and tasty! (particularly the end of day tasting session). Now we have started to look out for free food we can’t believe just how much there is literally right on our doorstep.
