Thank you very much for a fantastic Cooking with Fire course last Sunday. It was brilliant – I learnt loads, had great fun and the results were really delicious!

Jill – 2014

Thank you so much for a fantastic foraging afternoon followed by a truly delicious meal. I can still taste that hogweed! You two are clearly passionate about foraging and that enthusiasm has definitely rubbed off on me.

Eva – 2014

Just got home from Yorkshire, would just like to thank your good selves for the fantastic day my friend Derek and myself spent with you building a cob oven! It was a truly fascinating experience and the pizzas were wonderful! I would not hesitate in recommending ‘taste the wild’ to anybody looking for something different to do. Many thanks and good luck for the future, you are lovely hosts and deserve every success in your ventures.

Dave – 2014

I wanted to thank you for inviting me to the coastal foraging course. I enjoyed it enormously, I really had a great time. Waking on the beach isn’t going to be the same ever again! Thank you. Take care and keep up good work. It was truly inspirational.

Kasia – 2014

Chris, your clay oven building course was brill. You explained yourself well and encompassed all our group, both physical and mentally. You have now inspired me to find other people and places that could benefit from the experience of constructing an oven and enjoying cooking in the oven.

Lynn – 2014

Thank you so much for the fantastic foraging day last Sunday. It was an inspired birthday present from my sister. I thought I knew quite a lot about plants but I learned masses and loved smoking the trout for lunch and learning how to fillet a fish. Have had a look at your blog and definitely going to try the Meadowsweet creme brulee soon. Was great to meet you and I hope our paths cross again.

Sarah – 2013

A belated thank you so much for a fantastic day out last Sunday on the Introduction to Foraging course. It was really interesting, fun and the food you made was all so delicious. Thank you for your dedication to sharing your immense knowledge, it was truly inspiring. We are going to make a fish smoker this weekend, and I have spent the week scanning lime trees in Ealing in case there are still some flowers left over!

Sophie – 2013

What a fantastic course and few days in Staithes. Your hard work, skill, knowledge and enthusiasm were all evident and much appreciated by all of us. Many thanks for looking after us so well. We will without doubt recommend you to others, confident they will enjoy it as much as we all did. Looking forward to foraging on the Lewis sea shore and harvesting delicious sea weed. I fear that it may not be cooked quite as well as that memorable meal on Thursday night but we’ll live in hope! Best wishes and many, many thanks.

Andrew – 2013

I had the most fantastic time this weekend on the Vegetarian Wild Food weekend and wanted to thank you guys for a fun, informative and healthy weekend. I came away enthused and excited and my wife in the end had to tell me to shut up as it was obvious I was over excited.

I have always struggled to get into foraging as the books tend to overload you with information but your selection of twenty four plants and the methods of teaching were excellent. I can’t wait to see what is in my scout hut coppice tonight.

Chris – your food was excellent! I’m not much of a ‘foody’ but I came back inspired to start cooking again.

Rose – I love your woodland and what you have done with it regards the planting schemes, environmentally sensitive controls and sculptures. I’ve picked up some good ideas I hope to do at our hut.

Though I do live 140 miles away if you ever need any assistance please do not hesitate to call me. I will recommend your courses to my colleagues ‘in the trade’.

Keep up the good work and I hope to meet again one day.

May your journey through life provide health and most benefit.

Darren – 2012

Thanks ever so much for a really enjoyable day on Saturday. Really learnt a lot and also thoroughly enjoyed the day. Well balanced and very informative and very much hands on as well. Excellent!

Graeme – 2012

Just a quick not to say thanks again for making Saturday’s course so enjoyable. We both had a really good day and found the course informative and educational, but also really good fun too.

We very much enjoyed meeting you both, and hope you continue to enjoy the success you undoubtedly deserve.

Phil and Sallie – 2012

Had a great day yesterday. Many thanks. Shall want to book on other courses next year if any vacancies exist! When is it possible to book? Would be particularly keen to do the coastal foraging and another foraging in the autumn time.

Best wishes. You’ve got a great thing going. I shall be recommending you to many others!

Maya – 2012

We just wanted to drop you a quick email to say thank you for the best weekend ever! We’re already putting our learning into practice, and making our own pontak sauce!

Just when you thought you’d got rid of us, we’ve rebooked for the vegetarian foraging course in May, and a couple of our friends will also be coming too. We’ll bring along some of our homemade mead for you to try, so something to look forward to there!

Lara – 2012

I wanted to drop you a line to say a HUGE thank you to you, Paul and Greg for all your hard work on the Boden event.

I thought the content and format were great and worked very well, as did the client. The bush tucker trial was a fab addition… we better get our thinking caps on for next year!

Eventuality Events – 2012

Thank you very much for an absolutely fantastic day. Despite the heads up from yourselves that the mushrooms may not be about we found some. Your hospitality and professionalism was without a doubt second to none and I have learnt so much in a very friendly and informative atmosphere. And the food well what can I say hats off to the chef this was just what the doctor ordered.

Thank you for a great day, great food and above all great company.

Stuart – 2011

Just a note to say thank you for a wonderful weekend! It was not only informative but such fun. You looked after us so well – we were really spoilt!

Hopefully we will be able to join you again on your coastal weekend.

Alison – 2011

First of all, a huge thanks for such a brilliant weekend. Calum and I had a really fun, eye opening and never to be forgotten couple of days. And then there was the food! Can’t wait for this weekend to come so I can over in the forest and have a good forage!

Angie – 2011

Thanks so much from all the team – yesterday was a great success and several of them have appeared in the office this morning with their willow sculptures to show their colleagues. We all had a fabulous time and the prizes are all on display in the office kitchen area!

Many thanks to you and all your team for their hard work in making yesterday such a success for us.

Buying Group – 2011

Dear Chris, can’t thank you enough for a fantastic day at Swinton Park yesterday. It really was the best day. A morning foraging and identifying mushrooms, which I have always wanted to do, followed by a 4 course gastronomic meal, which, as a gastronaut, is one of my passions, is hard to top. You’ve set the bar high for any future days out.

Robert – 2011

Hi Chris, I hope you have recovered from last week and got back ok on Thursday. Many thanks to you for the foraging element of the treasure hunt – it was so refreshing to have a new aspect to the TH and our main client said it was his favourite element of the afternoon. It was great working with you and nothing seemed to be a problem!

Boden we’re extremely happy with the event and called it a ‘triumph’. We’re looking forward to hopefully working with you in the near future.

Eventuality Events – 2011

Just a line to say thanks so much for a great weekend. The whole experience was amazing and so difficult to put in words how much enjoyment has been really experienced. The foraging and culinary delights provided taste and flavour sensations that have left my taste buds and me very happy. Here’s to eyes on the ground for foraging delights.

Many Thanks and look forward to meeting you both again on future courses.

Tracy Lenihan – 2011

Thank you so much for a wonderful few days on your coastal foraging course. It was delivered by you both with such enthusiasm and passion which were very infectious. Thank you also for the delicious food. We’ll certainly get practicing!

Ellie & Stewart – 2011

A quick e-mail to thank you both for such an interesting day on Saturday. We were a bit worried about what to expect from the day, but it turned out to be very friendly, informative and tasty! (particularly the end of day tasting session). Now we have started to look out for free food we can’t believe just how much there is literally right on our doorstep. Hope to see you both again before too long; having enjoyed ourselves so much we’ve now got our eyes on the course at Staithes.

Allan & Pat – 2011

Just to say a big thank you for last weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed the course, your hospitality and the company of all of your other guests. What a great bunch of people and how easy it was to get on with everyone. In particular I felt I’d known the two of you for ages.
